Our Story
Essington Avenue Used Auto Parts has been family-owned and -operated since 1975. We began after purchasing a small business named Penn Del Auto Parts that was situated on a half-acre, rented lot located at 6750 Essington Avenue. As Essington grew and evolved, we added more equipment and employees just to keep up with demand.
History
It wasn’t long before the business outgrew that half-acre lot. In 1982, we purchased two more acres next door. That purchase allowed us to keep up with demand for quite some time. However in 1995, the company was experiencing growing pains again. We decided the best way to accommodate our booming business was by adding 10 more acres to our current lot! We were now a 12-acre salvage yard, and the company was approaching a fork in the road.
The area around our business was in the early stages of being developed, and developers were eying our 12 acres. At this point in time, one of the original partners of Essington Avenue decided to sell his share of the business to developers so that he could retire. It was now time for us to consolidate and reorganize as a company.
It was now 2007, and Nick Brosko Sr. had a pivotal decision to make. His choices were either to sell everything to developers and retire as his partner had, or to continue moving forward. The recession of 2008 was beginning, and we knew that our employees and their families depended on those pay checks. He decided to not only keep the business going, but to also expand the operation.
